The story is and English novel that was first published in 1881 in Canada and in 1882 it was published in the United States. It was the writer's first attempt at writing a historical fiction. The novel is set in the year 1547 and tells us about two young boys who were born on the same day. They were identical in looks and appearance due to which no one in the country could make out the difference between the two when they exchanged their places with each other. It then describes the various difficulties that each boy faced during the period of exchange.
