Introduction to Biotechnology has been written primarily for undergraduate and postgraduate biotechnology and microbiology students. Written in a lucid manner, the book covers the basics as well as advance topics of the subject.

Beginning with a discussion on the basic structure and functioning of cells and cell organelles, the book goes on to discuss biomolecules and biochemical reactions, as well as genetics and molecular biology. It also discusses in detail the process of DNA replication along with the replication machinery. The later chapters of the book explain the basic biotechnological techniques such as recombinant DNA technology, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, enzyme biotechnology, microbiology, plant and animal biotechnology, immunology, and environmental biotechnology.
