Dieter's Engineering Design presents a major update of this classic textbook for senior design courses. As in previous editions, Engineering Design provides a broader overview of topics than most design texts and contains much more prescriptive guidance on how to carry out design. Dieter focuses on material selection as well as how to implement the design process. Salient Features: A uniform terminology is used throughout. New topics added or expanded such as: Work breakdown structure, AHP, tolerances (including GD&T), human factors design, design against wear, the role of standardization in DFMA, mistake-proofing and six sigma quality. As a new feature each chapter ends with a list of new concepts and terms. Expanded examples add realism to key topics.
